My husband and I were praying and he prayed out about God being a light and I saw a bright ray of light coming out of the darkness towards and around the darkness shedding a brilliance that was bright as day. The light revealed a storm wracked sea, the waves crashing on jagged rocks, the light kept sweeping round in a circle and disappearing for a while but always coming back to where the storm was. The light itself was high up and spreading out for miles across the sea. A ship was caught in its beam buffeted by the storm in imminent danger of being dashed to pieces on the rocks, the wind was howling through the sails ripping them to shreds, but the light was still there and every time it shone on the ship it showed a safe narrow path through the rocks to a safe harbor beyond them where the ship could tie up in safety. As the ship followed the beam of light through the rocks the harbor came more and more into view, it was an area of calm safe water with high cliffs all around which protected the ship from the storm that raged upon the rocks outside.
Have you ever felt like you are in a storm and
that you cant see the way, sometimes everyday situations feel like they
become too much for us and we cant cope and sometimes we have things in
our lives that drag on and on and there seems to be no end to them at all
and we are constantly battered by whatever is going on. We must remember
there is always hope and God is always with us no matter what situation
we are in or what our thoughts may be he is the light in our darkness and
the strength of our soul.
God's light is always shining out strong and clear
but as a lighthouse beam goes in a circle and shows intermittently this
was what God was showing me. That when we take our eyes off God his
beam of light disappears and if we are in trouble all seems dark and you
know what its like the trouble becomes so big we take our focus onto the
problem not relying on God to solve it but ourselves, this is when the
light is, as we think turned away from us, but its not the light that turns
its us. Imagine if we were revolving instead and every time we turn away
from God how can we see the light it becomes dim and in some cases it is
dark and forbidding. God is calling us to walk the narrow path but we need
him so that we can we need the light of God shining on us and the path
so we don't stray from the way that he intends us to go I'm not saying that
everything will be amazing if we stay on the path, it wont, God allows
his people to be tested. But in him and through him we come through
in his strength and victory.
