above all taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one (eph 6:16)

I had an email from a friend and she was telling me about shields and how God is our shield.

I got to thinking that everyday we put on the shield of faith, but do we?  Personally it is a conscious act of prayer to put on the shield every morning.  Without that shield we are open to the attacks of Satan, it came to me that as we are tried and tested more that the shield we have grows stronger, Jesus and your own faith in God become that shield and as you grow stronger then so does the shield we have more faith and we know that God is taking me through stuff that can only help us grow (mind you at the time it stinks big time )  I know that there are times when I feel like God is so far away from me and the last thing I want to do is fight the good fight but its then that God moves through all the pride and strength that is ours and uses the holy Spirit power to heal and shield us.  Yes we do go through patterns of ups and downs highs and lows in Christ but all the time we are learning and filling with more of his power and love and as we fill and overflow it gives us the faith and confidence to help others.   Yes I know we are not always on top of things but then think of the pride we would have and how soon would it be before we start to forget where our strength really comes from.
