now he who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, He makes intercession for the saints according to the the will of God.

I got to thinking of this recently and when I pray I usually pray rather than what I want but God's will in all things, sometimes its hard because you want a certain thing to happen but if its not in the will of God then it wont.  How hard that is to pray for Gods will when you see suffering but always God uses things for his children and makes a better thing come out of it.   When Jesus went to pray he always asked his Fathers will.  Remember the Garden of Gethsemane? Jesus prayed "O my Father if it is possible let this cup pass from me: Nevertheless not as I will but as you will" (Matthew 26:39).  Even the prayer he taught us to pray "the Lords prayer" says "your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven"

When we see this we see Jesus bending to his Fathers will. how hard it must have been for him in the Garden we cant begin to imagine for even he would not want to die and he knew the glory that would come from it.  And even though he knew the pain and suffering he personally was going to go through he said not my will but yours.  We can all respond to not wanting to go through pain on our own behalf or for others but maybe we should sit back and think of the glory and power that would result if we let God work in our lives according to his will.
